Finding Frankie Console Trailer
SUPERLOU, the developer of Finding Frankie, has officially announced the anticipated console release of Finding Frankie coming to PS5 and Xbox Series through a Console Trailer on Youtube. SUPERLOU has stated that the console versions of the game will be released soon. No exact date has been announced yet.
Plot of Game
Finding Frankie is a single-player indie mascot horror game where you compete in a parkour gameshow at Frankie’s Parkour Palace for your life. The main objective of the game is to risk your life navigating challenging parkour courses consisting of indoor trampoline parks to intricate obstacle courses while avoiding horrifing monsters along the way such as Frankie and Henry Hotline.
Your skills will be put to the test! You’ll experience a multitude of different parkour mechanics such as bar swinging, wall jumping, rail grinding, and trampoline hopping as you navigate through all of the parkour courses. You also will have to quickly navigate tight ventilation shafts and dark, labyrinth tunnels underneath the building.
Thankfully you won’t be totally alone! Deputy Duck, your companion for parts of the game, will aide you by emiting flashing lights and scanning radar.
The main story of Finding Frankie according to Steam is:
Upon discovering one of the three secret invitations concealed within a box of Frankie’s branded cereal, you embrace the challenge of competing against two other contestants in what initially appears to be a delightful parkour game show. However, while still rooted in parkour and obstacle courses, this game show takes an unexpected deadly turn. Frankie, Henry Hotline, and the other characters deviate from their friendly cartoon personas, revealing a more lifelife and sinister nature. As you traverse intricate and challenging parkour levels and obstacle courses, you must strive to emerge victorious while you and your fellow contestants are systematically eliminated.
Finding Frankie was released on Steam on October 25, 2024 by SUPERLOU.
Frankie
Frankie is the main mascot and antagonist of Finding Frankie. He has two different forms; his cartoon appearance and his ingame physical, monster appearance.
Frankie in general is described as a gray rabbit with metal coiled springs for a neck and limbs, that he can stretch at wil. He wears a black top hat with a playing card tucked inside a red ribbon, a pair of red glvoes, a red ribbon bowtie, and red shoes.
His cartoon appeance makes him appear innoncent and cute, unlike his ingame physical appearance which takes on a monsterous, realistic form with a wide smile with razor-sharp teeth.
Frankie’s monster form makes his first appearance at the start of the game where he instantly kills a player for starting early. He then proceeds to slaughter two other contestants and is about to murder you, the player, if you aren’t fast enough to run past him before the door closes. If you’re too slow, Frankie will immediately jumpscare you and end the game.
Frankie will appear multiple times throughout the game as you parkour your way through many challenging courses.
Henry Hotline
Henry Hotline is the secondary anatagonist in Finding Frankie. He has two different forms; his cartoon appearance and his ingame physical, monster appearance.
He’s described as being the most human-like mascot out of the main three mascots of Finding Frankie. He’s tall and skinny, wearing a red suit. His most iconic feature is his head which is depicted as a broken-down, toy rotary dial phone, that’s attached to his body via a coiled telephone wire that he can stretch at will.
He makes his first appearance in Hide n’ Henry, after you, the player, have rung the phone near the entrance. Henry will proceed to yell at you for ringing the phone due to it causing extreme pain before retreating back into the maze.
Closing Thoughts…
I love indie horror games, especially indie mascot horror! When I came across Finding Frankie, I was immediately intrigued about the parkour element to the game, and thought it was a fun – albeit terrifying, yet thrilling game mechanic!
This game reminds me of the time I visited a trampoline park, minus of course having to parkour for my life and all the dangerous, monsters trying to kill me!
